Ok, first up you must Open Ports on your router and firewall.
Then you need to make sure that the firewall allows JK and a Direct Helper 5 (I think) to communicate with the outside world.
And finally, you need to know the exact IP address of the person hosting a game (and be sure he too has all his stuff open).
If it still doesn't work, well... Come on to IRC and we'll see if we can step by step troubleshoot things for you.

What about getting all the Visual Basic Runtime files required for getting JKLauncher to simply launch a damn game? I found sp6 and a few scattered DLLs and OCXs of VB5, but have the funny feeling I need plenty of other prerequisites.

Does anyone know how to get it to launch "Zone style" with JKLauncher?

I am running it on Windows 7 x64, if that is of any help; VB runtimes should be compatible with it... I just need to know what all the files are.

Edit: I download JediKnightDirectPlay.reg and changed the directory from "progra~1" to "progra~2", to account for the difference between x64 and x86 hierarchy, then installed it. Alas, it STILL won't launch.

I'm not sure how JKLauncher runs, and especially in 64-bit machines. I think I played a game or so a few times on it, maybe to help Zeq make it work, but we were 32-bitters (as well as Win 2K/XP).

It was supposed to be like a Zone replacement. Someone hosted a JKLauncher game, and all other JKLaunchers would find it. Myself have gone away from it, haven't loaded it in ages. We just meet on Skype, IRC, other chats and exchange IP addresses, making sure it is external IPs and not LAN IPs (as well as all the hassle with port forwarding).
