As I'm sure you, know this takes alot of time. So I work on it a little bit at a time, more so, when I feel inspired. I have a couple of dialogue lines for level 4 and then everything is complete up to level 8 and level 9 is about 90%. I had a rough plan for 14 levels so I know I am passed the half way mark now. I look at levels by Zero Raven and such, and know my levels clearly don't measure up, but I hope that they can still be fun to play. I do try to be as innovative as I can. At any rate, only 5 levels left, maybe I will complete them before the end of the world, but I will have to hurry, only 15 months left!

Do you have to shoot the ship down? looks like it in the new shot! Twisted Grin
Post 09-Oct-2011 18:10

Yeah, that will be part of your mission for this level. I have the cog working, but the actual crash of the ship is a bit lame. I still have a way to go on this level, fix some textures, finish and fix a cog that creates a character that you have to follow and eventually fight, create some new pups for a few new enemies, add a few things here and there, some dialogue. But the level is playable and you can finish it ! I am so happy I found the error that made this level crash, it was getting very frustrating. Level 11 is the closest to being complete but I am also working on level 10. It is also playable to the point where you can continue on but I think the architecture is only about half done. I started a few sectors for level 12, and have an old level that I will fix and use for the starting point of level 13. And the final level, for now, is just the default box. Onward !

Those are some gnarly looking enemies! Lauging

Saber Duels?

Thanks. I know the astetics are not as good as some, but I'm hoping the game will be interesting and challenging.

Saber Duels? Yes well sort of. By level 11 you will run into some of Karro's underlings who have lightsabers, but are not very skilled with them. Although you will fight Karro's #1, Squirrelly in level 10.

Yeah this looks great. How many levels will there be, cause it seems like it might be a long level pack.

Nice Terrain!

I'm almost there! Right from the start I wanted this to be a full campaign. There will be 14 levels although I am making good use of the jkendlevel() verb so that some levels are skipped if you manage to do (or not do) certain things. I have completed 12 levels and basically have the last 2 to do. The last level will of course, be a saber fight with Karro. I would like to make cut scenes between the levels to tell the story, and have been playing with smacker a bit. So even if I continue at the pace I have been at for the last couple of months, (which have been blisteringly fast for me) I don't expect to be done for a while yet. Thanks for the interest, I will keep at it so hopefully you can check it out sometime in 2012.

14! dude that is sick

It's a funny thing. Because when I started this (In 2007) like most newbie editors I thought 14 levels would be easy and I could put it together in a few months. As I started to learn more I realized that this was not going to be easy. There were certainly times when I gave up on it (temporarily) when I got stuck, or when I would have to start again (HOM issues in level 2 was almost the end of this story!). As I got to the middle of this campaign I really did think I bit off more than I could chew, but I was always drawn back, and little by little I learned more, got better and got closer to the end. As I look (and play) levels by Zero Raven and Darth Alran I am very jeolous because I know visually those levels are stunning and ground breaking. But I do feel that when I am done, this campaign will have added something to the jk hub community, and have I ever learned alot! So to all you active editors out there just keep at it, even if you have to put it aside for a while, you can come back to it fresh and newly inspired. I look forward to seeing all of your completed levels in 2012 and beyond!

The latest SSs are great, showing off the swamp. Reminds me of the swamp in MotS but more green than purple

Keep it up!
