I think thats a wonderful idea especially with cog programming and also C and basic , java as well. I have always wish that I could program an entire custom made cog for certain things in my last projects, I always had to steal or use an older cog and acommadate the situation along with the cog in the game. Dont feel bad about your crappy level..lol! Im going to upload my first level here real soon.

Here's a list of things tutorials could be made for:

Manually cleaving sectors
Lighting
Making elevators
Making water surfaces animated/ adding .mats in general
Making doors/elevators/forcefields activated by switches
Making locked doors that can be opened with a key
Making a secret area
Adding ambient sounds to an area (e.g. cantina music from a ghost_pos)
Making new templates
Adding custom files into JKEdit and creating a new template for it
Making a pit of doom...
Creating domed ceilings
Adding dark jedi enemies (cog has to be added manually)
Making catwalks
Tinting sectors a certain color
Making a conveyor belt

This is just a simple list of common things new editors would want to learn. They're all very simple things to do. Some things hardly take any time at all to make, so the videos could go pretty fast.

Man, that's alot. Though I think you can scratch "Pit" off the list, unless you were thinking of something special with "Pit of Doom".

Ok, those who KNOW JKEdit can take care of this list. I only know ZED and JK. Razz
Or... Should I start learning JKEdit...? In that case, where the heck are them tutorials? Oh right.

I got another tutorial heading on its way real soon, Im just experiencing problems with the frame rate of the screen recording but its still going to work. I have a cool technique on how to create elevators manually if thats all right.

Gibba I gotta admit I am impressed by your tutorials.

My .02, aren't there hotkeys for stuff like domes? It's been YEARS since i fiddled with JKEDIT, but I remember a door key, break glass key, forcefield key among others.

But for a complete newb coming into editing these are a MARVELOUS idea!

I tried fooling around with JKEdit a long time ago and thought it was a good idea but I was totally lost when trying to join hallways and such. I should check this out I have always wanted to edit JK

Joining hallways in my experience is near impossible with JKEdit, because you have no grid to align two sectors with like JED has. The JKEdit version on the hub for download (or at least back in the day when you could download things from this site) is 3.24. I don't know what has been improved, but I know there is a version 3.5 out there. Does anyone have it? I would like a copy.

Anyway, I probably shouldn't speak of such things in this thread, but I would actually like to see some JED tutorial videos too. Better yet, I would like to see that JKWorkshop program to sometime see the light of day. If the JKEdit and JED could be combined it would be awesome.

Very helpful. Is it alright if I use this for my series as a featured guest video?

Fine by me.

Well, this has been a while.
I've managed to get another tutorial done, maybe a little rushed, and I hope you can understand it.

It is in a special format that only JK owners can read. Razz

Just drop it in Episode and play Singleplayer.
