Hey, I finally got this forum to register me...

I've got a amd64 5400 and a Geforce 8500. I normally run JK at 1680x1050, earlier today I installed the unofficial patch and JKE (after a clean install of JK) And when I ran JKE for the first time Jedi Knight crashed and booted me to the desktop. There was a an error message, I wish I remembered what it was now, but after that after I loaded up JK again I could no longer use higher resolutions, nor any widescreen resolutions at all. 1280x1024 is the highest setting you can choose now, the others just vanished. nothing higher is even listed. With and without JKE. And since it runs JKE at all I'm assuming it still recognizes my 3D card (that option is checked) and mots runs fine.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Jedi Knight and that didn't do anything, and I tried reinstalling my video card drivers, twice, and STILL the problem persists. It's baffling. Could this be due to something that got nuked in my registry?

Is there a way to force JK to use a custom resolution?

HELP!!!! Jedi Knight is one of my favorites, I was looking forward to playing it with the enhanced mod, but now all I have are fat streached out graphics and low resolutions!!!

This sounds like it has to do with the unofficial patch, or your videocard settings, I don't know. I typically run 1024x768 so I wouldn't have run into that problem. how do you even read the hud at that res?

Shred - the monitor is bigger.

As for the issue, haven't a clue. ... reinstall your video drivers?

I think Shred was right though - probably an unofficial patch thing.

Ha, my monitor isn't that big, the biggest issue is the lack of a propper widescreen resolution matching my monitor. I get either string bean kyle, or a streached out fat kyle. And I don't think it's the patch because I completely reinstalled JK, and it was still that way before re-applying the unofficial patch. Video card drivers were reinstalled too. Oh well, It's mostly just frustrating.
