Just wondering if anyone has an old (real old) version of Smacker. I downloaded it a couple of years ago and apparently even this version is too new and won't work with JK. Thanks.

You can follow the links in that tutorial to get a version that should work with JK (I'm pretty sure that's where I got my copy back some years ago, and I remember it being compatible).

No, I downloaded that about 2 years ago and it doesn't work. I read somewhere in either this forum or massassi's that you need a very old version of Smacker, that JK will not work with newfangled versions.

Well that was a lot easier than I expected... (did a google search for "smacker tools old", this was the third item)

Seems to be the same version I remember. I smacked a video and it played fine in JK, though there was no sound (I probably had a setting set wrong).

I'd say, either that site from the tutorial updated their copy of the tools since I originally downloaded, or I got my copy from the Code Alliance (I'm suspecting the latter), but since the CA site isn't around anymore AFAIK, I can't check on that.

Thanks for the link!! I had high hopes, because the version I have also has the Bink compressor with it, and this didn't. So I smacked a vid and put it in the folder and ... I heard the first few seconds of sound (no vid) then JK crashed. I tried a few more times with the same results. I will play with it a bit more because it almost works and that is closer than I have gotten before! (It's been a good day, I have also solved I problem with an actor that I have been struggling with for the last year or so!!). Will post with hopefully a better result in a few days.
