We're coming up on 10 years since my first level "Space Lodge" under the alias Cloudstrife5. 3 months later I released Jedi's High School for multiplayer and it became the multiplayer hit on the MSN Gaming Zone.

Since then I moved away, went to recording school, switched gears and ended up as a full time web developer in Chicago. It's been probably over 4 years since the last time I opened JED.

Finally the day has come where everything has become extremely accessible and cheap. I bought VM Fusion to run on my Mac using Windows XP, Jedi Knight and Mots using Steam and it runs great.

I did a day of reminiscing my old work. I must say that with JHS I had no idea what was in my brain at the time. My level editing wasn't up to par, and the whole project was poorly thrown together in a hack job kind of way. It was a radio-hit wannabe level. In fact, walking through sectors of the level I started to laugh. Going from 14 years old to 24, it certainly was a shocker of how much was wrong. Though at the age, I didn't see those imperfections nor would I consider making a High School Jedi level today.

I have Zed installed now, maybe considering that upcoming level contest. Depending on how much time I can make available. Glad to see this place alive and well.

Heh, glad to see you're still around. I've had similar thoughts, thinking back to some of my old levels. I have a strong idea of what they are, but I still had them so I could go back and look anyway.

For the level contest, consider just making a 2-4 player deathmatch level if you haven't got much time. It doesn't have to be visually elaborate, as you can see from some other contest entries, just good and fun.

We continue to to play JHS on LAN games at our house. It and other levels were used as inspiration to get my son (Martheous) started in editing, and who knows where that will take him. While I'm not an editor myself, I enjoy the levels and the variety of ideas that come along with each level.
