WOW YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME FOR COMING UP WITH THIS.
the old Spider-Man mod sucked. I'm a die hard Spider-Man fan and i'll help in any way possible to make sure this thing turns out right. It's so easy to just allow someone to stick to walls and shoot webs, but its hard to capture the true feeling of being Spider-Man. I think that is what the activision games are missing to be honest. Sure you can web swing and crawl on walls, but i don't think you truly feel like the web head.

My biggest problem that I am working on, and could use your help since you volunteered - spidey - is to find

- Full frontal
- Full back

Pics of spiderman. (in bmp, jpg or gif format).

Ive been searching for some days, and all i find are swinging, punching, crawling poses.

I need a good front/back just standing there spiderman pose, to make the most accurate skins.

I too am a long-time Spiderman fan, and have prolly over 400+ comicbooks and crossovers.

I was planning on making them much better. =)

aka, 16bit 256x256 mats force-remapped onto a jk skin (using photo-realistic movie screenshots or reallife pics, if possible).

You never know, it could get used.

And although i do have a working spidey.3do;
if i find better full front, full back pics of spiderman, i will improve this 3do (as all those textures were custom designed by me, using other pics as reference points).

hmm....yea although my knowledge of editing is limited, i have some wallcrawling suggestions since you're working on that


when spidey is stationary and is just wall clinging, don't have his stomach to the wall, have his chest and stomach off the wall and facing the last horizontal direction he were moving. What i mean by this is if he was moving parallel to the ground... this is hard to explain, picture him having one arm hanging on the wall, his other arm resting on his legs, which are also clinging to the wall.

i don't know if that is too complicated to make or what but i just wanted you to keep it in mind. the activision games didn't do spidey's wall crawling justice, they should've payed closer attention to pictures of spidey wall clinging in the comics.

Right now, I have noticed that kyle has a normal duck key. With this key comes 2 animations: forward_duck and backward_duck. I am creating a similiarly 'new hotkey' - "Crawl" with 2 new animations: forw_crawl, and back_crawl. Both are the close to the wall, hand over hand (leg over leg) motion, but in diff directions. Im not sure if i can 'add' the animation you speak of.

However, that 'could' be an idle animation when spidey is attached to the wall maybe. ( aka, if spidey is idle and is attached to wall, then he reclines his body back and looks around the area ).

I dont know how hard this will be yet, until i complete the 2 anims ive started.

Perhaps zeq can throw his input in; im still unsure on how to leave kyle/spideys right hand (since it will also be used to shoot guns, etc, while he is in crawl position) [ aka, since u can hold duck key and fire gun, im working on same premise, wallcrawl and fire gun ]

hmm, it would be a good idea for you to have to hold down crouch in order to wallcrawl or wall cling. otherwise gameplay could get sloppy if you accidentally run into a wall.
