I've been meaning to properly remake the JK HUD for years now and finally had an idea on the design I was going to shoot for. My Toolbox has had a double-size version of the default HUD for forever, but it's crudely done and ugly.
Anyhow, I'm going for a nearly symmetrical set of frames, where the shield readout changes every 20 shields and the battery readout every 25 batteries (as opposed to 33). I'm not sure what I'm gonna go for with mana; right now I have a 3-block design I'm messing with. The health display will be a vertical gauge that will display as close to 100 different images as is possible with the BM format.
Colors are staying true to the original: health is red, shields are green, ammo is red, mana is red(ish), batteries are green, fieldlight is white. Supermode colors are yellow; I've hit a snag with the health/shield supermode font (they share the same font), and am working on resolving the issue.
So far, I'm imagining the frames as sort've brushed metal... or something. Unfortunately, JK's way of repaletting colors is playing havoc with me, so it'll take some work to get it looking good; right now I just photoraped the default HUD backgrounds into the basic shape I'm going with.
